How could we forget the Citroën Mehari from family outings and trips to the beach?

Produced between 1968 and 1987, it was unveiled in Deauville on the 16 May 1968. As a fun fact, ‘Mehari’ is also the name of a type of fast-running camel. This is not the only exotic thing about this car: the names of all its colour options (save for the blue) also relate to deserts from around the world: Hopi Red, Tibesti Green, Montana Green, Kirghiz Orange, Kalahari Beige, Hoggar Beige and Atacama Yellow.

Ludovic Crochot, better known as Louis de Funès, also drove a Montana Green Mehari in the film ‘The Gendarme and The Gendarmettes’, and a Tibesti Green Mehari in ‘The Gendarme and the Extra-Terrestrials’.
